History:
Archibald was picked up as a stray. After doing his time in the pound, we were asked to take him in to find him his forever home. Sadly we do not have any history on this lovely lad.
Current:
Archi is currently in kennels in Worcester. He is a happy, friendly boy.
He was in foster for a little while for some respite from the kennels, his foster mum told us:
"He is just the loveliest, sweet fella. He is such an excitable ball of fun. He literally finds fun in anything.
He is completely house trained and will let you know if he needs to go out by tapping the door.
He knows his manners and will do sit, paw and high five. He is happy to be left home alone for a few hours, he just takes himself to bed. He loves lying in the garden, or looking out of the French doors/window.
He loves a rope toy or the thick plastic toys as he loves to amuse himself by throwing the around. He will play fetch with a ball, but this game requires 2 balls, one for him and one for you to throw.
He eats and drinks well and is very clean."
Walking:
Archibald is still very energetic, you would never believe his age. He is a good boy to harness up, although can get a little excited at times.
He walks very well on the lead, not pulling and only reacted to one barky dog on the lead whilst being with his foster mum, he happily walked on when asked.
Whilst in kennels, he hasn't reacted to passing vehicles down the lanes or barky dogs in their gardens.
He currently has a 30 minute walk twice a day. He loves nothing more than having a good sniff in the hedgerows and bushes.
He is your typical Staffy, he doesn’t like getting wet.
Travelling:
Archibald travels well in the car, he gives a little cry when he first gets in, but soon settles.
Vets:
The vet comes to kennels to see the dogs, Archibald was a a good boy for his visits.
Health:
He has had a full health check including blood test and the vets have confirmed all his blood are within the normal ranges for his age. He has recently been neutered, and that’s all healed.
Ideal home:
We aren’t sure whether Archi has lived with another dog. He hasn’t shown any reaction to them out walking, but he has not been tested with them.
Archibald is a playful boy, he loves any toy and loves to play tug of war. He will often throw a rope toy around for himself. He also came in as a stray, so we are unsure if he has lived with children, for that reason - we feel any resident children should be aged 10 years plus.
He is house trained, he hasn’t had any accidents in the home and will let you know when he needs to go out by tapping the door.
Archi is a total snuggle monster, he loves to cuddle and kiss. He sometimes needs to be reminded he isn’t a lap dog.
He is happy to be left home alone for a few hours and he takes himself off to bed or happily plays by himself.
Standard information:
Archibald is microchipped, neutered and vaccinated.
He is currently in kennels in Worcester, but she can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is now.
There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Archi and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
