History:
Archie came into the Senior Staffy Club from the police after his owner disclaimed him following a change in their circumstances. We don’t have any history on Archie, but he has a very friendly and playful nature with good manners. He is a Staffy cross and is much taller than your average Staffy.

Current:
Archie is currently in foster. He has been a happy, jolly boy from the day he arrived with us.

He is always up for a game with you, but is equally happy chilling out and relaxing. He knows his commands and is happy to show you when asked.

He loves to sit on your lap for cuddles. He is a good boy at night-time and will happily sleep downstairs. He is toilet trained and will tell you know when he needs the toilet.

Since being in foster his mum tells us:

"Archie is a big, beautiful smiley boy. He loves a game of tug, but will also happily chill in the armchair whilst I work.
He is a good guard dog, as he barks when the doorbell goes, but once the door is open - he greets everyone with a waggy bum."

Walking:
Archie loves his walks; he sits beautifully for his harness to be put on. He walks very well on the lead, either next to you, or just in front of you - he doesn’t pull.

He really loves to enjoy his walk, taking in all the different smells along the way.

Although not officially dog tested, he doesn’t appear to be reactive at all. He has had several off-lead dogs approach him and he hasn’t seemed fazed.

He didn’t show any reaction to passing traffic or horses down the lanes when he was in kennels.

He loves water and likes to have a paddle in the local streams.

Travelling:
Archie travels lovely in the car, you don’t hear a peep out of him.

Vets:
The vet comes to kennels to see the dogs, Archie wasn’t very happy about his blood tests, so he was muzzled for this procedure.

Health:
He has had a full health check including blood test and the vet commented he was in excellent health.

Archie does have a funny gait on his back leg, they look bowed. Our vet has checked him out, his hips are absolutely fine, but feels it could stem from weaker cruciates.

He has been prescribed Loxicom, but this doesn’t appear to affect him in any way and he doesn’t appear to be in any pain.

Ideal home:
• Archie may be able to live with another calm dog, after steady introductions. He would also be just as happy as an only dog.
• Being a very tall boy, we feel he would be able to live with children aged 12 years plus. We feel he would be best suited with older teenagers who would like to play with him, as he can be quite bouncy.
• Archie is house trained and hasn’t had any accidents in the house, he doesn’t bark very much, only really at the doorbell.
• Archie loves to snuggle up on the sofa next to you for a snooze, while you stroke him, but is also happy to be left home alone for a few hours.

Standard information:
Archie is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered.

He is currently in foster in Worcester, but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is now.

There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Archie and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
