History:
Champion came into the Senior Staffy Club in October 2025 due to a change in his owner's circumstances.

Current:
When he first arrived, Champion had a very poorly eye and, due to his previous living conditions, he was very over stimulated and excited by everything.

He had to have his eye removed and we have been working hard to teach him to self soothe and relax indoors. He has done amazingly well in kennels and is now enjoying life in a foster home.

His foster dad tells us:

"Champion has settled well, he sleeps through the night either on the spare bed or the sofa. He loves to play in the garden with footballs, toys, tennis balls and he likes you to stay with him. He has also started to relax and snuggle on the sofa with us."

Walking:
Champ absolutely loves his walks and is great on the lead, he doesn’t pull and checks in with you every so often.

In kennels we found him to be a little reactive towards dogs when they were close up and in his personal space. He was more than happy to walk in the company of his kennel mates at a safe distance though.

His foster dad has confirmed, whilst in foster, that when going past dogs on the other side of the road he has shown mild interest, but hasn’t been vocal or attempted to lunge, so this could improve with time and trust.

Travelling:
Champion ls a great little traveller — calm and content in the car.

Vets:
Champion was seen by our mobile vet, who came to kennels to visit him. He was a very good boy, staying calm and still for his health check, blood tests, vaccinations and a thorough examination of his eye.

We have not taken him to a practice.

Health:
He has had a full health check including blood tests. All results have come back as normal for his age.

When Champion came into us, it was clear there was a serious issue with his left eye. It was very bulbous and cloudy and upon his medical examination, the vet confirmed his eye was painful and non-visual so the decision was made to remove it.

The vet confirmed it looked like trauma was the cause of the injury, rather than a tumour.

Champion was neutered at the same time and he has recovered very well from both procedures.

We have discovered his hearing isn’t brilliant.

Ideal home:
Champion has been in foster for a few weeks and is already showing how much love he has to share. He’s looking for someone who can give him the calm, loving home he deserves, without any other pets.
Due to his disabilities with his sight and hearing, he would be best suited to an adult only home.
Champion is house trained, he hasn’t been destructive in his foster home - only with his toys initially, but he has calmed down.
Due to his past living conditions, we feel Champion would really benefit from a home where someone is home most of the time as he loves being with you.

Standard information:
Champ is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered.

He is currently in foster in the West Midlands, but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is now.

There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Champion and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
