History:
Charlie came to us after he found himself at the pound, so we have no background on him.
Current:
Charlie is a very friendly, affectionate, fun boy who is a firm favourite with all of our volunteer walkers – they all say what an amazing little boy he is!
He’s always happy to see people and loves a fuss. He makes the most adorable sounds when he’s happy, especially when he first greets you!
He enjoys playing with his toys, but he loves snuggling on the sofa even more.
Walking:
Charlie walks well on the lead without pulling.
We’re currently building up strength in his back legs, so he is having walks of around 30 minutes. There is no reason he couldn’t do further in the future as there are no signs of arthritis.
He doesn’t seem phased by anything on his walks and is very responsive to his walkers.
Travelling:
Charlie travels well and settles down quickly.
Vets:
Charlie is very well-behaved at the vets. He was no trouble in the waiting room and sat calmly on the chairs or on our lap.
He was the best boy for his examination and blood draw – our vet said he’s a lovely, confident boy who should have no issues finding a home.
Health:
Charlie has been seen by our vets for an examination and routine bloods.
He does have a few lumps on his body, but these are nothing to worry about and don’t need removing.
His blood tests were all normal apart from a slightly raised lipase level. Again, this is not of huge concern, but we have put him on a low-fat diet just to be careful.
Ideal home:
Charlie can live with children 10 years plus
We’d prefer a home without any other dogs and he can’t live with cats. He doesn’t want to interact with other dogs and prefers to ignore them, so we feel he’d settle better in a home as the only dog.
As we have no history on Charlie, we don’t know how he is when left alone so we’d prefer a home where he wasn’t left for long periods of time.
Standard information:
Charlie is microchipped, neutered and has started his vaccinations.
He is currently in kennels in Stoke and he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is now.
There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Charlie and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
