History:
Envy came into us after starting to feel uncomfortable around the small children in the home.

Current:
Envy is currently in a foster home in Warwickshire. She has only been there for a couple of weeks, but seems to have settled really well in the home where she is playful and super cuddly. However, she struggles a little out walking due to being reactive.

Her foster mum says:

"She's a very loving little girl, always happy and always playful. She's obedient and well mannered, she's also very intelligent. She knows a lot of commands and has already picked up our routine. She is quite a needy dog in terms of attention, as long as she can be with you she's happy and although she eventually settles while I'm working, she's not overly happy about it (neither am I, I'd rather spend all day with her too!).

There is work to be done with her in terms of walking and just calming her down when she's outside in general, but I really do believe that with a little effort and patience getting her to the point of being relaxed in the garden, at the very least, can be achieved.

We think she would benefit from a home where someone has the freedom to give her all the attention and affection that she craves, maybe someone who is retired (but she is a strong girl) or someone who works part time and not every day. Also, an active home as she has tonnes of energy to burn, she's not your average sleepy senior."

Walking:
When in kennels, Envy walked beautifully on the lead. Checking in on you if she felts the pressure of the lead, she loved to go for a walk but she could find it extremely stressful if she saw other dogs. The kennels are in a very rural area, she wasn’t too reactive to the occasional dog she met as long as we could keep a decent distance.

In the home, which is more residential, she is finding this more challenging. She will sit perfectly to have her harness on and she gets excited to go out, she sits by the door and waits beautifully. As soon as the door is open, it's like she's got a rocket up her bum and she's off! She does pull, but we've noticed that walking her every day around the same time and the same route, the pulling is easing off. That is unless she sees another person, dog, cat or bird.

Travelling:
Envy travels well in the car if you are sat with her on the back seat.

She hasn’t been out very much right now due to settling into her foster home, but she has been known to be chatty when she’s excited.

Vets:
The vet came to the kennels to see Envy. She was a little nervous, but tries her hardest to be brave and a nice girl.

Health:
She has had full health check including blood tests. When she arrive her left ear was quite grubby, so the vet popped monthly ear gel into her ears and she’s not needed it since.

All her bloods came back within normal ranges.

Ideal home:
Envy would need to be the only pet in the home due to being reactive. Her garden would need to have solid 6ft fences as she is a bouncy girl.
She would benefit from a rural home where she wouldn’t bump into too many dogs and therefore she could relax a little outside the home.
She could live with older children aged 14 years +.
Envy has been left on her own in her previous home, but she really isn’t happy with it - she much prefers to be with you.
She is house trained, doesn’t chew or bark excessively.

Standard information:
Envy is microchipped, spayed and vaccinated.

She is currently in foster in Warwickshire, but she can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet her at least twice where she is now.

There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Envy and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
