History:
Goochi came to SSC after we were contacted by a vets to help - she was taken to the vets to be pts as her previous owner could no longer keep her.

Current:
Goochi is a very friendly girl and greets all the volunteers by standing on her back legs and leaning on them to say hello.

She adores human attention and we have nicknamed her ‘Velcro dog’ as she wants to be close to you and will dish out all the Staffy snogs in between snuggles.

Goochi is very playful and loves toys - she’ll happily play fetch and she also likes to chew on her toys.

She loves her treats and can sit and give her paw on cue.

Walking:
Goochi walks well on the lead and once she’s settled into her walk, she rarely pulls.

She was tiring quickly on walks when she first arrived. At the moment is happy with around 20 minutes at a time. There’s no reason that she couldn’t go a little bit further once she builds up her stamina.

Goochi isn’t reactive to other dogs on her walks and shows no interest in them.

Travelling:
Goochi does get a little stressed whilst travelling. She pants a lot and whines, but does sit pretty still.

She would benefit from ‘fun’ trips in the car to help her become less stressed.

Vets:
Goochi is very well behaved at the vets.

She ignores other dogs in the waiting room and was no trouble for her examination or blood tests.

Health:
Goochi had routine blood tests that all came back completely normal.

She does have a mammary mass that will need to be removed when she is spayed. She was likely in season when she first arrived with us so will need to wait until around May to safely have the operation. SSC will help with the costs of spaying and the lump removal.

Ideal home:
Goochi needs a pet free home. She shows no interest in interacting with other dogs and as she is so human-focused and wants all the attention, we don’t feel she’d enjoy sharing her human with another pet. She may be able to make dog friends on a walk once she has settled into her new home and feels more secure.
As we have no background on Goochi, we’d ideally like a home where someone was around for the majority of the time as we don’t know how she is when being left alone.
Goochi can live with children 8 years plus. She’s generally quite gentle, but can be excitable and bouncy at times.

Standard information:
Goochi is microchipped and vaccinated.

She is currently in kennels in Stoke, but she can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet her at least twice where she is now.

There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Goochi and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
