History:
Lola came to SSC from Birmingham dogs home after she’d been found as a stray.
Current:
Lola has been in a foster home since mid-March, her foster mum has discovered lots about her, including:
"Lola loves any sofa, chair, dog bed or other comfy spots. She enjoys a little sunbathe too!
She sleeps quite a lot. She is very affectionate and likes a cuddle on the sofa. She is fine with visitors coming into the house, no nervousness.
She has slept on my bed a couple of nights, but she will sleep downstairs without protest and has spent the majority of nights downstairs.
I can confidently say that she doesn't have separation anxiety having recorded her. When I come in after being out, she is calm when she greets me.
She enjoys having a shower with no resistance there.
She likes a large tug toy game, and she loves puzzle toys/snuffle mats. Sometimes she gets the zoomies which is super cute.
Lola's appetite is extremely healthy! She is not at all fussy about food and always eats her meals enthusiastically. I often add a bit of veg to the bowl. She will eat pieces of apple and carrot just as happily as eating a dog biscuit."
Walking:
Lola walks well on the lead (when no dogs are around) and enjoys having a good sniff.
She panics when she sees another dog and will pull towards them and become quite stressed. She will vocalise if they’re very close to her.
She will need to be walked in areas where she does not see many dogs so that she can relax and enjoy her walks.
Travelling:
Lola often wriggles around on the back seat when travelling. She is quiet though and not distracting. On a return journey she settles and sleeps (this is usually because she’s had a walk somewhere).
Vets:
Lola is a good girl at the vets. She would not like a busy waiting room, so she would most likely need to wait outside.
She was no problem for our vets during her examination or blood draw, and a scan of her bladder was done without needing any sedation as she was so calm.
Health:
Lola is in good health. She did have a urine infection when she first arrived, but after a course of antibiotics, it has cleared up.
Ideal home:
Lola needs a pet-free home with a secure garden.
Lola ideally needs someone experienced with dog reactivity or someone willing to take advice to help Lola with this. She can be quite strong when she sees another dog, though she walks well on lead in quiet areas, so she needs someone physically capable of holding her.
She can be left for up to 4 hours once settled into her new home.
Standard information:
Lola is microchipped, spayed and vaccinated.
She is currently in foster in Stafford, but she can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet her at least twice where she is now.
There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Lola and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
