History:
Millie came to SSC after a change in her owner’s circumstances.
Current:
Millie is a little snugglebug! She enjoys nothing more than human attention and sitting next to you for cuddles and tummy rubs. Having affection and snuggles is definitely her favourite thing!
She has fun playing with her toys too and likes a game of tug or fetch.
Treats always go down well with Millie and she’s starting to enjoy using her brain for treat searches and puzzles.
Walking:
Millie walks well on the lead and rarely pulls.
She is reactive to other dogs and wouldn’t enjoy walks in dog busy places, but we find with plenty of space and encouragement she is easy to move on.
Millie has been very well trained to wear a muzzle by her previous owner. It's not a requirement that she needs to wear it but she is happy to do so on her walks.
We definitely feel that with consistency and a bit of training, she could show great improvement as she just wants to please her humans.
Travelling:
Millie travels well and gets into the backseat of a car without any hesitation.
She settles well for a journey and sits quietly looking out of the window.
Vets:
Millie gave our vet a lovely greeting and was happy to have lots of fuss.
She did become quite nervous when the examination started and just wanted to hide by snuggling into her aunties side, but bloods and an examination were done without any issue.
Health:
Millie has had a full examination and blood tests – her bloods came back with a few mild raises, but these are normal for a girl her age and are of no concern.
She does have a very quiet heart murmur – this does not need any medication or further investigation, but would just need to be checked whenever she sees a vet - ideally every 6 months or so.
Ideal home:
Millie needs a pet-free home.
She is a very gentle girl and could live with children 8 years plus.
She was comfortable being left in her previous home, so she could be left for up to 4 hours once settled in her new home.
Standard information:
Millie is spayed, microchipped and has started her vaccinations.
She is currently in foster in the Staffordshire Moorlands, but she can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet her at least twice where she is now.
There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Millie and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
