History:
Nova came to us from another rescue where she has been since October after being handed in as a stray.

Current:
She is currently in foster in Worcestershire. She as settled very well in her foster home and her frosty mum says she is a happy, intelligent girl.

She is non-destructive and clean in the house. She is happy to be left for up to 3 – 4 hours without issues.

She is non-reactive to loud noises and traffic. She sleeps through thunder, so we guess fireworks wouldn't bother her either.

She is super friendly and happily greets all visitors into her home.

She loves her walks, playtime and zoomies in the garden.

Soft toys explode in Nova’s company, but she absolutely loves the rubber toys and balls. She can often be seen trotting around the house with her rubber rugby ball in her mouth.

Walking:
Nova walks well on the lead and she loves being out exploring.

She can pull sometimes when she sees another dog, although she is getting used to the local dogs and if it’s a familiar dog, she generally ignores them.

She isn’t keen on other dogs walking towards her, she has shown some people reactivity too on a couple of occasions when she first arrived into her foster home.

She is very food orientated and so, with the help of a behaviourist, her foster mum has been working on desensitising her to her tiggers, such as fast movements. This has been really successful and Nova has been engaging in her foster mum rather than going into high alert.

Since she started her training, Nova is now happy with people passing by at a reasonable distance and mostly ignores them. She has also been muzzle trained for busy bustling areas, this helps keep her safe.

She loves to swim and run free in a secure paddock when given the chance.

Travelling:
Nova travels well in the car. Her favourite position is in the front seat next to you.

Vets:
The vet comes to the foster home to see Nova and she is always a very good girl for him.

Health:
She has had full health check including blood tests. All her bloods came back within normal ranges.

Before Nova came to us, she had received a few operations.

The first one was in October 2023 when she had her spleen removed due to a tumour and she was spayed at the same time.

The second operation was in March 2024 where she has mammary masses removed.

Ideal home:
• Nova would need to be the only pet in the home.
• She would benefit from a rural home, where her walks wouldn’t be in busy dog walking areas.
• She could live with older children aged 15 years +.
• Nova is happy to be left for up to 3-4 hours.
• She is house trained and doesn’t chew.
• If you're looking for a funny, playful goofball - Nova is your girl!

Standard information:
Nova is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered.

She is currently in foster in Worcestershire, but she can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet her at least twice where she is now.

There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Nova and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
