History:

Rocco came into us from a home after a change in circumstances. His owners tell us he became anxious and wouldn’t settle and when stressed, Rocco can chew his feet.

Current:

Rocco is currently in kennels in Worcester and seems really quite settled.

In the home, he spent most of his time wearing a cone as this was the only way to stop him chewing his feet. Since being in kennels, we have looked at his diet and introduced a steady regular routine and he hasn’t looked at his feet and no longer requires his cone.

We have found him to be a friendly, confident friendly boy.

He loves his daily walks and he has mastered the treat puzzle boards very quickly.

He loves a licki-mat with peanut butter on.

Walking:

Rocco loves his daily walks with his volunteer walkers and always walks very well on a relaxed lead.

He gets great enjoyment from sniffing all the hedgerows and taking in all of his surroundings.

We haven’t encountered many dogs whilst in kennels because we are so rural.

He has walked nicely in the company of his kennel mates and has ignored dogs barking from behind their garden gates.

Rocco has not been formally dog tested, but we were told he can be hit and miss with dogs… Normally ignoring large dogs, but can react to smaller dogs.

Travelling:

Rocco is a good boy in the car and travels well.

Vets:

We use a mobile vet, who visits the dogs at kennels, so we have not seen him in a vet practice. He is not a fan of the vet, so has to be muzzled or sedated for treatment.

Health:

Rocco had a full health check, including blood tests and vaccinations restarted upon arrival.

His bloods came back normal for his age. On his health check we discovered several rotten teeth, so he was neutered and had 3 teeth removed on 21/04/2026. He is recovering well and should have his stitches removed this week.

We also noticed after his walks and having a drink, he had some acid reflux. The vet examined him and prescribed Omeprazole, this has stopped all the reflux.

Ideal home:

Rocco is looking for a home where he is the only pet, he deserves all the attention at his age.

Due to his previous owners advising his anxiety, we would recommend a home with children aged 12 and over.

Rocco is house trained, we were told he isn’t destructive in the home.

We feel Rocco really needs a home where someone can be with him most of the time, when he gets stressed he chews his feet. Once settled into a calm routine with regular exercise, he may be happier being left for short period.

Standard information:

Rocco is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered.

He is currently in kennels in Worcester, but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him several times where he is now.

There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Rocco and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
