History:
Rusty came into us after being signed over following being neglected.
Current:
Rusty is currently in foster in Worcestershire. Rusty went into foster to help with his recovery from being under nourished and neglected.
He has been with his foster mum since 2nd July.
This is what his frosty has to say about him:
"Rusty is an absolute bundle of fun! He loves a cuddle and falls to the floor every time for a belly rub.
"He is a handsome boy and he knows it! Rusty will happily sleep anywhere you let him and he does sleep upside down like a diva.
"Rusty loves a ball - doesn't matter the size! He also loves anything meaty and chewy.
"Rusty is fine on his own for a few hours, he does let out a little cry initially but no barking or destruction and often just takes himself to his bed ready to greet you again with his ever waggly bum!
"He is dog reactive, but does seem to be more out of excitment and will happily be redirected verbally. He is a bit of a puller at the start of a walk, but soon settles down.
"Rusty has been great with all people, he really is a joy to be around! He is so clumsy and his tail just never stops wagging!
"He is great in the car and loves to sniff his way round the fields."
Walking:
As Rusty started to gain strength in kennels, he really enjoyed his walks. He loves snuffling in the hedgerows and mooching on the long line across the fields. Rusty is happy to walk for as long as you want to. Then when back home, he loves nothing more than laying on his back for tummy tickles while he snoozes.
Travelling:
Rusty loves to go on car journeys, he loves sitting on the back seat so he can watch everything going past.
Vets:
We use a mobile vet for our kennel dogs, so he comes to kennels to see the dogs. Rusty needed quite a bit of treatment when he first arrived to get him back into good health. He has always been a very good boy, he just allows the vet to do his work.
Whilst in foster Rusty has been neutered, so visited his frosty’s vet, where he was a good boy for them too.
Health:
He has had a full health check including blood tests. All his bloods came back within normal ranges.
He was neutered on 16th August and this has all healed up perfectly.
Ideal home:
• Rusty will need to be the only pet in the home. He hasn’t been cat tested, but he can be a little reactive towards dog. He is easily redirected by voice though.
• He could live with children aged 10 years + he is a lovely kind boy, but he is bigger than your average Staffy and very clumsy!
• Rusty can be left for a couple of hours, he goes back to bed until you are back home.
• He is house trained, doesn’t chew or bark lots.
Standard information:
Rusty is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered.
He is currently in foster in Worcestershire, but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is now.
There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Rusty and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
We aim to acknowledge your application within 48 hours.
