History:
Wallace came into the Senior Staffy Club from the police after his owner disclaimed him following a change in their circumstances.
We don’t have any history on Wallace, but he has a very friendly nature and good manners.
He is a Staffy cross and is much taller than your average Staffy.
Current:
Wallace is currently in foster. He has been a happy, jolly boy from the day he arrived with us.
He is always up for a game with you, but is equally happy entertaining himself with a ball.
He will sit and give a paw when asked and loves to have a good chat with you.
Since being in foster his mum tells us:
"Wallace has been an absolute diamond, he is the most well mannered foster dog I’ve had so far.
He loves to roll about on the lawn, he also loves to chase the ball if you throw it for him, but isn’t very good at fetching it.
He’s not so keen on stuffed fluffy toys, he much prefers to play with hard rubber toys.
He is house trained and will let you know when he needs to go out. He likes his licki-mat.
Wallace absolutely loves cuddling up to you and having his tummy rubbed, he has just been a gentle giant."
Walking:
Wallace loves his walks and he sits beautifully for his harness to be put on.
He walks very well on the lead, either next to you or just in front of you, only pulling slightly when he smells lovely smells.
When he arrived with us, he wasn’t neutered and he would spend forever sniffing every scent on the verges and in the hedgerows, so short walks would last hours. He now loves a good walk, just stopping for the occasional smell.
Being 7, he is only just a senior - he is a strong, fit lad and would happily walk for hours.
Wallace hasn’t been dog tested and hasn’t experienced off lead dogs approaching him whilst with us at kennels. In his foster home, we are told he does bark at some dogs, but he doesn’t pull or lunge towards the dogs, and will walk on when told to.
He hasn’t shown any reaction to passing traffic or horses down the lanes.
Travelling:
Wallace travels perfectly in the car, you don’t hear a peep out of him.
Vets:
The vet comes to kennels to see the dogs - Wallace was a riggle pants for his blood tests, but he was still a friendly boy.
Health:
He has had a full health check, including blood tests, and the vets have confirmed all his bloods are within the normal ranges for his age. He has recently been neutered and that’s all healed.
Ideal home:
• We feel Wallace would be best as an only dog in the home, he barks at some dogs and ignores others.
• Being a very tall boy, he feel he would be able to live with children aged 12 years plus. We feel he would be best suited with older teenagers who would like to play with him.
• Wallace is house trained and hasn’t had any accidents in the house, he doesn’t bark very much, only really at the door bell.
• Wallace loves to snuggle up on the sofa next to you for a snooze while you stroke him. Not having any history on him, we aren’t sure whether he would be happy to be left alone, but he appears to have a calm nature.
Standard information:
Wallace is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered.
He is currently in foster in Worcester, but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is now.
There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Wallace and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
