Hello, my name’s Barney and I’m a 9-year-old dinky staffy boy. Unfortunately, my owner passed away and her immediate family couldn’t look after me, so the Senior Staffy Club have taken me in to find me a new home.

I’m a very friendly boy and I love cuddles and fuss. Having a cuddle is my favourite thing and I make sure all the walkers at SSC take me to our indoor space where I can have lots and lots of fuss! I love treats too – I take them really gently and will sit and give my paw.

I like going for walks and seeing new things. I walk nicely on my lead without pulling. I don’t mind walking alongside other dogs, but I can be a little bit worried if they get too close to me.

I was a really good boy at the vets – they said I was so well behaved and didn’t even flinch at the needles!

I don’t like people near me when I’m eating my dinner or a chew – I’m happy as long as you give me enough space but my friends at the SSC can give you advice to help me with this if needed.

I can be a bit anxious about travelling and I will talk to you the whole journey! I think I could get used to it though, especially if I was taken to lots of fun places!

Please Note: Barney had a biopsy taken from a lump in his mouth (04/09/20) and we are waiting for the results.

Barney is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is in foster in the Staffordshire, but can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him where he is now.

There is an adoption donation of £90 for Barney and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.

If you think you could offer Barney a new home, please fill out the online Adoption Application Form.
