Hey there, my name is Polo, can you guess why?! I’m just 7 years old so I’m a youngster in this club, only just a senior really!
Everyone says I’m a very handsome boy, but I think it’s more important that I have a very loving temperament. I love to meet new people and give them a staffy kiss or two, although once visitors start chatting, I do go off and settle on my armchair or pouffe to look out of the window and leave the grown-ups to chat.
I’m good with the vet, although I don't like being confined in the waiting room with lots of other dogs - I like to wait for my turn outside! I'm good at travelling. The thing I’m not good at is being left alone - I really don’t like it much. So I’d like a new home where someone is around most of the time. But my current foster family are helping me to get used to people going out sometimes for a short time, and I am getting better at it - in fact my frosty mom says I’m a quick learner! I had a bad habit of going to the toilet in the house when I was left alone and overnight sometimes, but I’ve stopped doing that now, I’ve got a proper routine and I’m learning to always go for a wee outside and not in the house.
I love to play, especially with a tuggy in the garden! My recall is quite good when I’m playing, even if I do get distracted momentarily by the odd dog bark!
I’m not sure how I feel about other dogs, as I’ve not been socialised with them. I interact nicely with some, although I don’t like all of them! I’m going to visit SSC’s behaviourist soon for a bit more assessment with other dogs, so they’ll be able to tell you more about that soon. But for now I’m probably best as an only dog in the home.
I’m very lively and quite a strong boy, and I can jump quite high! So if you want to take me home with you, you’ll need some good fences! But I do walk nicely on my lead.
I have lots of love to give! If you’d like to meet me, you can phone Julia on the number below.
Lots of love
