If a Senior is eligible for the Senior Staffy Support Scheme this means, that should you adopt them, you would be able to claim certain financial support, for specified medical conditions, that the Senior you adopt may need ongoing help with.
As each case is unique and individual to each Senior on the scheme the exact eligibility of the Senior would be discussed with you should you enquire or apply to adopt them.
However for example;
Dog A - suffers with a condition like Cushings Disease, which requires life long medication
and treatment. Senior Staffy Club may decide to set aside an amount to help with the cost of the medication and treatment the Senior requires which, as the adopter, you would be eligible to claim. You will still be required to initially pay for the medicine / treatment, but you will then be able to calim the cost of it back, (if it falls within the terms outlined at the time of the adoption) from Senior Staffy Club on the production of the vet receipt.
Dog B - The Senior Staffy Club vet may have stated that at some point in the future further treatment for an exisiting condition may be required, such as an operation.
If this operation should need to go ahead in the future you will be able to claim the cost of it back from Senior Staffy Club if it was initially covered by the Senior Staffy Support Scheme when the dog was adopted.
As a small Charity we have to try to balance the use of our funds for the benefit of all the Seniors in our care and those who may need to come into our care in the future.
We do however recognise that some Seniors need a little more support than others
to enable them to find new loving homes, and so the Senior Staffy Support Scheme
aims to help the Seniors who are the most in need move on to forever homes,
and also aims to give the wonderful adopters who open their hearts and their homes
to the neediest some support for their kindness.
There are no Seniors currently eligible for the Senior Staffy Support Scheme
