History:
Mutley came to us after a change in his owner’s circumstances.

Current:
Mutley is a very friendly, sweet-natured boy whose tail never stops wagging! He’s affectionate and gives little kisses and he also likes to push his body into your face when he gets excited!

He loves his treats and can sit and give his paw on cue.

He enjoys playing with toys and throwing his soft toys around to show them who’s boss!

Here's what his foster mum has to say about him after a week or so of him being with her:

"Mutley went to the vets yesterday for a quick check up before his big boy op next week, he travelled brilliantly in the car and was a star in the vets - even getting a treat off the receptionist! He was a tad hard to check over as his tail/bum wouldn't stop wagging and he had to be bribed with soft cheese so the vet nurse could do her job 🤣

"He has settled in to home life very quickly and everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting him loves him, he’s just a happy little chap! He went visiting my friends last weekend and did himself proud!

"His favourite things in life are probably fusses, walks, treats, a cuddle on the settee and playing with his ball!

"He's such a good boy and can be left for up to 4 hrs and sleeps in his bed in the kitchen all night, he's a dream 🥰."

Walking:
Mutley walks well on the lead without pulling and regularly checks in with whoever is walking him.

He does have very stiff hips so is on walks of around 20 minutes at a time.

He can bark at larger dogs, but this is just one bark and then he generally ignores them.

Travelling:
Mutley did find travelling quite stressful when he first arrived with us. However this has really improved and he’s now happy travelling in the car on the back seat.

Vets:
Mutley is well behaved at the vets.

He needed to be sedated at his first appointment for a blood draw, but only because he wouldn’t keep still! He’s otherwise happy to be examined etc., especially if treats are involved!

Health:
Mutley has cataracts in both eyes, so does have limited vision. This doesn’t really affect him and he’s great at finding his way around once he’s mapped out his surroundings.

He has stiff hips in both legs and so has started a painkiller (Loxicom) to help with this.

His routine blood test came back with all normal levels.

Ideal home:
• Mutley can’t live with cats, but he may be able to live with a similar-sized/smaller dog (after several successful introductions) as he has lived with one before, but he does get a little anxious around bigger dogs.
• Mutley needs a calm home where things aren’t moved around a lot or left on the floor etc. to help with his limited vision.
• He’s fine being left for up to 4 hours once he’s settled into his new home.

Standard information:
Mutley is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

He is currently in foster in Cheshire, but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is now.

There is a non-refundable adoption donation of £120 for Mutley and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
