History:

Baloo came to us from a pound, where he ended up after he was found tied to a bench.

Current:

Baloo is a very gentle boy who loves nothing more than snuggling up next to our volunteers on the sofa.

He’s very quiet, with extremely good manners. Baloo likes his treats and is very gentle when taking them. He will sit and give paw on cue for his treats.

He does play with toys and balls seem to be his favourite, but he does generally prefer snuggles to playing.

Walking:

Baloo walks beautifully on the lead without pulling and he will often look back to check in with you.

He can be a little reactive to other dogs and horses, but this is easily managed and he’s quick to move on when asked.

At the moment, he has walks of around 30 minutes – this suits him well as he can become tired towards the end of this time.

Travelling:

We’ve taken Baloo on a short trip in the car and he travels really well. He jumped onto the backseat without any hesitation and sat calmly for the journey.

His first journey to come to SSC was a lot longer and the people that transported him said how well he travelled.

Vets:

Baloo is very well behaved at the vets and recently had a full examination, including blood draw, without any issues at all. Our vets remarked on what a lovely well-behaved boy he is!

He did struggle slightly with other dogs in the waiting room, but was quick to calm down when given a bit of space.

Health:

Baloo is in good health.

Ideal home:

Baloo needs a home without any other pets.

He is very calm and gentle, but as we have no history on him - any children in the home would need to be 10 years plus.

Again, as we have no history on him, we don’t know how he copes with being left so we would prefer someone who could allow him to settle before he was left for any longer periods of time.

Standard information:

Baloo is neutered and microchipped. He has started his vaccinations and he is due to finish these on 16/02/24.

He is currently in kennels in Stoke-On-Trent, but can be rehomed anywhere in the UK pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel

to meet him at least twice where he is now.

There is a non-refundable adoption donation of £120 for Baloo and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
