Barney

SEX: Male
AGE: 6 Years Old
LOCATION: Stoke-on-Trent in kennels
CHILDREN: 12 years plus
DOGS: No
CATS: No

History:
We don’t have much history on Barney. He was bought off Gumtree, and 2 weeks later handed into another rescue who contacted us to help.

Current:
Barney is a very sweet natured little lad. He was very scared and shy when he first arrived, but has settled in and become a friendly boy who loves to sit on your knee and give kisses.

Barney has plenty of energy and enjoys going for walks and exploring. He also likes a good run around our paddock playing with his toys.

Walking:
Barney really enjoys his walks and is always eager to get going and walks well on the lead without any pulling.

He can pass other dogs without reacting, unless they react at him - then he’ll bark back. However, he does get nervous when other dogs get very close and will have a grumble/little bark. He is very easy to move away though and soon settles back into his walk.

Travelling:
Barney has travelled with us in the van and jumped in happily. He was a bit vocal on the way to the vets, but was much quieter on the return journey.

Vets:
At his recent check up barney was very well behaved and enjoyed fuss from the receptionists. He was a good boy for his examination, even though it was a male vet and was only slightly wary at times.

During his blood draw he gave plenty of kisses to the vet nurses!

Health issues:
Barney has had a check up at our vets and is in good health.

Ideal home:
We have little history on Barney, but it was mentioned by his previous owners that he does struggle being left on his own. So we would be looking for somebody who is at home for the majority of the time.

As he can be quite shy and nervous at first, any children in the household would need to be 12 years plus.

Barney cannot live with other dogs, cats or small furries.

Standard information:
Barney is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

He is currently in kennels in Stoke-on-Trent but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is at the moment.

There is an adoption donation of £120 for Barney and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
