History:
Bentley came to SSC as his owner was very allergic to him. They’d tried for a long time to manage things, but recently they became very ill with the allergy. So, unfortunately, had to give Bentley up.

Current:
Bentley is a very friendly, gentle boy who enjoys meeting new people. He loves playing with his toys and is especially good at giving soft toys a good ragging!

He also enjoys his cuddles and will very gently put his paws on your shoulder to give little kisses. Of course, he likes his treats too! He’ll sit nicely for these and give his paw too.

Here is what his SSC volunteer walkers say about him:

"Bentley is just an absolute gentleman, walks like a dream on the lead, has lovely manners when it comes to taking treats and is just a delight to spend time with. A sweeter Staffy cross I haven't come across, he ticks so many boxes!"

"Bentley is such a loving sweetheart. He loves to play with his toys and loves a good walk. He has such good manners and would make a loving companion."

"Bentley is the most adorable boy. Loves his walks even if it’s raining he still wants to go out. Is very gentle on his lead and the perfect gentleman when taking treats from you. A fun loving boy who will entertain himself with his toys, but equally loves a good fuss and a love on your lap."

"Bentley is such a lovely boy. He is always so happy to see you, happy to be taken out, happy to have a fuss and happy to play with his toys! His little personality has started to shine over the last few weeks and he is a loving, polite, friendly boy 💙."

Walking:
Bentley enjoys going for his walks and investigating his surroundings. He walks beautifully on the lead without pulling.

He likes his space from other dogs as he does get worried by them being close up to him. He can sometimes bark at other dogs, but this is generally those that bark at him first.

Travelling:
We’ve travelled with Bentley a couple of times now without any issues. He’s been on the backseat of a car and settles down very quickly with just the odd, occasional whine.

Vets:
Bentley is very well behaved at the vets, though he is not keen on other dogs being in the waiting room so is happier waiting outside.

He was a very good boy for both his examinations and blood tests. Our vet remarked what a lovely lad he was who should have no trouble finding a home.

Health issues:
Bentley is in good health. He had routine blood tests that all came back as normal.

He may have a slight cruciate tear which can cause him to hop on his back leg sometimes, but at the moment this is being managed with pain relief. He is currently taking paracetamol daily.

He does have a bit of a sensitive tummy. Therefore, we currently have him on a sensitive dry food and tinned Chappie - this is really suiting him.

Ideal home:
Bentley needs a pet free home.
He can live with children of 8 years and above – he can sometimes jump up to say hello, but is very gentle.
He can be left for short periods of time (up to 4 hours at a time) once he has settled in his new home.

Standard information:
Bentley is microchipped and neutered. He is due to start his vaccinations shortly and SSC will pay for these if not done before his adoption.

He is currently in foster in Worcester, but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is now.

There is a non-refundable adoption donation of £120 for Bentley and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
