History:
Betsy came into the Senior Staffy Club from the pound, where she was taken in after being found wandering as a stray. Unfortunately we do not have any history on her.
Current:
Betsy is currently in our Worcester kennels. She was described by the pound as, "Friendly and desperate for attention".
She is a super friendly girl, who definitely wants your attention. She loves to be touched.
She was very excitable and bouncy when she first arrived, but is settling into our routine very nicely.
She hasn’t shown any interest in teddies or balls, but has really enjoyed playing with our treat puzzle games.
She is a goods girl, she sits for treats and takes them gently.
Walking:
Betsy walks beautifully on the lead, she loves walking down the lanes and across the fields and will happily walk for as long as you want to go.
She loves you talking to her and telling her she’s a good girl.
Betsy totally chills out when she is out walking. Where we walk her is quite a rural area, so we are fortunate not to bump into too many dogs out walking. Dogs that we have seen, she is definitely interested, but hasn’t shown any aggression.
We have not dog tested her with on or off lead dogs as we feel she wouldn’t be too keen with dogs in close proximity.
She hasn’t reacted to people, push bikes or traffic passing her whilst out and about.
Travelling:
Betsy has not travelled in our charity van yet, but will be tested in the next couple of weeks.
Vets:
The vets have visited the kennels to see Betsy and she was as good as gold for them to complete her health check, blood tests and vaccinations.
Health issues:
She has had a full health check, including blood tests, and all have come back normal.
During her health check, the vets did pick up on a couple of her upper teeth that may need removing in the future, if this is so, the cost of removal will be covered by SSC.
Betsy has not been spayed yet, as she arrived to kennels in season, so she will be required to be spayed in 3 months time and this cost will be covered by the Senior Staffy Club.
Ideal home:
• We feel a calm quiet home would be best for Betsy. She can be quite excitable at kennels, but then who wouldn’t be after being locked in a kennel for hours. Once out walking, she settles beautifully.
• She would need to be the only dog in the home, we have no history on her and she just absolutely loves human affection.
• Children would need to be 12 years plus.
Standard information:
Betsy is microchipped and vaccinated. She will need to be spayed in June, at the cost of SSC.
She is currently in our Worcester kennels, but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet her at least twice where she is now.
There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Betsy and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
We aim to acknowledge your application within 48 hours.
