History:
Bruno came to us due to his owner’s ill health, plus he was finding the busy family life difficult to cope with sometimes.
Current:
Bruno is a very friendly boy who loves spending time with all our volunteers. He’s a bigger lad, around 27kg, and can sometimes be a bit bouncy and mouthy when he’s excited or anxious.
However, this has really improved during his time with us. Bruno was a big scaredy-cat when he arrived, but he’s become much braver as he’s settled in.
He enjoys his walks and playing with his toys and also thinks he’s a bit of a lap dog at times – he loves to give kisses and have snuggles!
Walking:
Although he’s a bigger boy, Bruno walks pretty well on the lead. He did pull a bit when he first arrived, due to stress, but again this has improved greatly during his time with us.
He still has quite a quick walking pace and can be strong at times but, on the whole, he’s a pleasure to walk. Due to being in a quiet area, we haven’t passed many dogs but we have been told Bruno isn’t always a fan of other dogs being too close.
Travelling:
Bruno has travelled with us in the backseat of a car and although a little stressed, he settled down quite well with only a few whines.
Vets:
Bruno has been to our vets for a general checkup and routine bloods. He was well-behaved in the waiting room, though it was very quiet and he was a good boy for his checkup, being just a bit wiggly for his blood draw.
Health issues:
Bruno does have some pain in his spine and hips, so we have started him on a painkiller (Loxicom) trial to hopefully help this. Other than this, he has been given a clean bill of health.
Ideal home:
Bruno needs a quiet calm home where he can relax.
He needs a home without any children or any visiting children.
Bruno needs a pet-free home. He used to be okay with other dogs, but this changed after he was attacked by one.
He can be left for up to 4 hours at a time once he has settled into his new home.
Standard information:
Bruno is neutered and microchipped. He has started his vaccinations and is due another in early June. SSC will pay for this to be done if he’s adopted by then.
He is currently in our Stoke-On-Trent kennels, but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is now.
There is a non-refundable adoption donation of £120 for Bruno and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
We aim to acknowledge your application within 48 hours.
