History:
Daisy came to us from another rescue. They had rescued her when vets had contacted them, after she had been taken to them to be PTS.
Current:
Daisy is currently at our Worcester kennels, where she has settled well into her daily routine. She is a gorgeous old girl who adores people and would love to sit next to you all day long. She can be a bit cheeky in the kennels, reacting to the other dogs as she passes them in a confined space. Daisy isn’t really bothered by toys or balls, but she really loves a peanut butter filled Kong and to sit next to you on the bench/sofa.
Walking:
Daisy has been a little hit and miss with her walks. Some days she doesn’t like to walk, but when she does, she walks beautifully on the lead. She doesn’t need big walks; at 13 she is happy with a little potter.
When out walking, her all time favourite is to walk over the fields and she absolutely loves to have a good roll in the grass.
Travelling:
Daisy is a monkey when travelling in the car; she spends her whole time trying to work out how to get into the front seat with you.
She will need to be secured in the boot of the car with either a dog guard or a crate. She may be OK travelling on the back seat with someone sat next to her, but left alone she will chew through the seat-belt attachment… little monkey!
Vets:
Daisy isn’t keen on the vets and will need to be muzzled before entering the practice as she will try to nip them.
She is muzzle trained and is more than happy to wear it.
Health issues:
When Daisy arrived she had a severe cough. Our first task was to get her seen by the vets and sort her cough out. She had lots of tests and thankfully, all of her blood tests came back negative, except for the Bordetella test. So, she had a severe chronic case of kennel cough. Daisy has received 10 days of steroids and antibiotics and has stopped coughing and she is much brighter in herself. The rest of her health check came back fine.
Ideal home:
The type of home we would like for her is one where she would not be left on her own, so someone who is retired would be perfect. She deserves a calm, quiet home – Daisy would need to be the only pet in the home.
She hasn’t been cat tested. She has been a good girl out walking and she will walk in another dog’s company at a sensible distance. She hasn’t taken any notice of dogs in their gardens or dogs on leads passing her, but she would not be happy sharing her home with another dog.
Standard information:
Daisy is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.
She is in kennels in Worcester, but can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet her twice where she is at that time.
There is an adoption donation of £120 for Daisy and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
