History:
The boys came into rescue after their owner had a change of circumstances that meant they were being left on their own for long hours.

Current:
George and Chewy are typical friendly and happy Staffy boys. They love nothing more than being in each other’s company. George is the more laid-back of the two and is very gentle. Whereas Chewy is more vocal and excitable.

Both boys love to play wrestle with each other and George is more toy orientated (Chewy does show interest in toys when George has one, but they never argue!).

Walking:
The boys love going for walks and walk brilliantly on the lead without any pulling. We are slowly building their stamina up and at the moment they walk for around 20-25 minutes at a time. George shows no interest in passing dogs, but Chewy can become vocal when he sees one.

Travelling:
We transported the boys to the rescue in our van and they both coped well with the journey, with just the odd whine. At the moment both don’t like to get into the car/van and have to be picked up to be put in, but settle well once the journey starts.

Vets:
George and Chewy were both very well behaved during their vet examination and blood draw. Both boys coped well with full waiting rooms. All the staff at the vets commented on what lovely boys they are.

Health issues:
Both boys have been to the vets for a full check-up and routine bloods and are in good health. Although Chewy would benefit from losing some weight.

Ideal home:
We are looking for a pet free home for the boys. Any children must be 10 years plus as Chewy can get a bit excitable. The boys can be left once settled into their new home, but this should be for no more than 4 hours.

Standard information:
Both dogs are microchipped and neutered. They have not yet started their vaccinations, but SSC will cover the cost if these have not been done before they are rehomed.

They are currently in kennels in Stoke on Trent, but can be rehomed anywhere in the UK pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet them at least twice where they are now.

There is an adoption donation of £200 for George and Chewy, all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
