History:
George came into the Senior Staffy Club from a loving home after his family had to relocate abroad and it wasn’t possible for him to go with them.

He is a very loving boy who adores your company and loves giving kisses and snuggling on the sofa with you.

Current:
George is currently in our Worcester kennels. He is a gorgeous, friendly boy who, after his initial sadness of being in kennels, has become a huge love bug.

After his walks he absolutely loves his cuddle time in the sofa room with his volunteer walkers.

Walking:
George is a fit boy and walks well on the lead. He can be strong at times when he finds a scent that he likes the smell of. Generally, he walks lovely on the lead.

We were told by his previous owners he is not good with other dogs. He was attacked as a puppy, so isn’t keep on dogs bounding up to him. We have ensured off lead dogs haven’t approached him whilst he’s been in kennels and he has been absolutely fine around dogs.

He is happy to ignore dogs barking in their gardens and passing on lead dogs down the lanes.

He has shown interest in the sheep when walking through the fields but hasn’t attempted to chase them. He isn’t interested in horses when they pass him out on walks.

George can become a little worried with loud agricultural machinery when it passes him down the lanes, when he first arrived, he would drop to the ground… with gentle reassurance he is getting better and just stands still while it passes now. He is fine with normal traffic.

Travelling:
TBC

Vets:
The vet came to kennels and George was very good boy for them to complete his health check, blood tests and vaccinations.

Health issues:
He has had a full health check including blood test and the vets have confirmed all his blood are within the normal ranges for his age.

George wasn’t neutered when he came to us, this is being done this week and he will be spending a week or so in a temp foster to recover from this procedure.

We were advised from his previous home that he suffered a cruciate ligament tear to his left leg and was confined to his crate for 6 weeks about 4 years ago. He has made a full recovery and not has any further issues.

Ideal home:
• George would need to be the only pet in the home.
• George has lived in a home with children, so he could live with children aged 6 years plus. He is a big boy, but he is very gentle and considerate around them.
• He is house trained, so could be left for short periods of time (4 hours) once settled into his new home.

Standard information:

George is microchipped, vaccinated and will be neutered.

He is currently in our Worcester kennels, but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is now.

There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for George and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
