History:
Holly & Ivy are a daughter / mother bonded pair.
They were surrendered to another rescue after their owner died and the family couldn’t take them. We were asked to take them to help find their new home.
Current:
The girls are currently in our Worcester kennels. Holly is the younger of the two, she is a beautiful girl who is calm and loving on the lead, but really comes to life when she is in the cuddle room at kennels. She loves to play with the teddies and the tennis ball.
Ivy is mum to Holly and she is a little more shy. She is equally as calm on her lead. Ivy loves to get into the cuddle room too, she loves tennis balls and cuddles on the sofa.
Walking:
When the girls arrived, they both pulled lots on the lead, they have however settled into their daily routine nicely and don’t really pull anymore. The do love to walk side by side.
Being older, Ivy isn’t as active as Holly but still enjoys her walks. Holly really enjoys a good run around on her long line in the fields.
They haven’t shown any reaction to people or traffic whilst out and about, and most of the time they have ignored other dogs.
Travelling:
The girls haven’t been in the charity van yet, but updates will be added once they have.
Vets:
The vets have visited Holly and Ivy at kennels and they were both perfectly well behaved, standing calmly for him to do his checks.
Health issues:
They have both had full health checks, including blood tests, and all came back within normal ranges.
Ivy has a large skin tag on her left elbow and a couple small ones on her body, the vet has checked them over and has agreed the large one could be removed when she is spayed. The cost for this will be covered by SSC.
Holly also has some lumps on her body. Two lumps, one either side of her ribs, have been aspirated and the vet has confirmed there are cysts and can be removed if we want. Holly also needs to be spayed and this will also be covered by SSC.
Ideal home:
• Holly & Ivy would be better as the only pets in the home, they do not appear to be reactive towards other dogs, but they haven’t been tested.
• Holly is quite an energetic playful girl, so they could live children aged 10 years +.
• We don’t have any details of their previous life, so we do not know if they are happy to be left for a few hours.
Standard information:
Holly & Ivy are microchipped and vaccinated. They will need to be spayed and the cost will be covered by ourselves.
They are currently in our Worcester kennels, but can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet them at least twice where they are now.
There is an adoption donation of £180 for Holly & Ivy and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
We aim to acknowledge your application within 48 hours.
