History:
Jade came in with Ellen and into us at SSC after spending a fair while at other kennels. Her owner was no longer able to care for her.
They are not a bonded pair and have lived independently for about 12 months, so SSC feel they would be better rehomed individually.
Current:
Jade is currently in our Worcester kennels. She is a lovely confident little old lady, who super friendly and enjoys a bum scratch.
She takes her treats very gently.
Walking:
Jade stands perfectly still to be harnessed up, but is keen to get going as soon as it's all fastened up. She walks lovely on the lead without pulling, she just loves being out and about.
She has a such a cute little stride and waggy tail…see her videos!
She has not reacted to other dogs, cars, bikes or people who have passed her while we have been out on our walks.
Like Ellen, Jade hasn’t shown any interest in toys or balls, but she loves going into the meet and greet room, she loves to climb on the sofa with you for snuggles.
She hasn’t been dog tested with off lead dogs, but she definitely hasn’t shown any reaction to other dogs in a controlled situation out walking or in their gardens as we pass.
Travelling:
We have yet to test Ellen in the charity van, but will update as soon as we have.
Vets:
Jade is a very good girl for the vet.
Health issues:
She has had a full health check, including a blood test, and all has come back in normal ranges.
Jade has been a little stiff on her legs, the vets feel she may have a touch of arthritis. She doesn’t need medication for this at the moment, but we have popped her on Yumove.
We are keeping her walks to about 20 mins.
Ideal home:
• Due to her age, we feel Jade would benefit from a slightly quieter home.
• Jade did live with Ellen, but we think she would be happy to be the only dog in the home and have her new owners' 100% attention.
• Because Jade has arthritis, she is a little more wobbly on her back legs, so she will be better living with older children aged 14 years and over.
• We are unsure whether Jade has ever been left in the home, so this is something that will possibly have to be built up over time to see how she got on.
Standard information:
Jade is microchipped and vaccinated. She is currently in our Worcester kennels, but she can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet her at least twice where she is now.
There is a non-refundable adoption donation of £120 for Jade and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
