Lexi

SEX: Female
AGE: 7 Years Old
LOCATION: Stoke-on-Trent
CHILDREN: 10 years plus
DOGS: OK on walks, but better as only dog
CATS: No

History:
Lexi lived with her previous owner for about a year. Unfortunately, due to health reasons, she was no longer able to care for Lexi and so contacted SSC.

Current:
Lexi is a gentle, sweet natured girl. She can be wary of new people at first, especially men, but soon comes round – especially if a squeaky toy is involved! Lexi loves to play with her toys and really comes to life when running after a tennis ball.

She’s also a very affectionate girl who likes to sit in your lap for a cuddle and gives gentle kisses. Whilst in the kennel environment, she can be quite vocal and will bark to tell you what she wants or to hurry you up for walkies time!

Walking:
Lexi is larger than your average staffy (around 25kgs), but generally walks well on her lead. However, she can be strong and pull towards things that she wants to investigate at times.

Travelling:
Lexi has travelled in the van with us and although she jumped in willingly, she did bark for the whole journey! Her previous owner said she is less vocal if someone sits in the back with her.

Vets:
Lexi has been to the vets for a check-up and, although she was a little anxious, she behaved perfectly for both her examination and blood tests. She waited patiently in the waiting room and wasn’t concerned by any of the dogs in there.

Health issues:
Lexi has a hernia which has been present since she was a puppy. This will need to be removed when she is spayed. Due to the date of her last season, Lexi is unable to be spayed until the beginning of March. SSC will cover the costs for this to be done in her new home.

Ideal home:
Lexi has plenty of energy and so would suit an active home that can take her for long walks and provide plenty of play time. As she can be a little shy, we would prefer any children in the home to be 10 years old and above. She is fine around other dogs when out and about, but would be better as the only dog in the home. She cannot live with cats or small furries.

Standard information:
Lexi is fully vaccinated and microchipped. She will need to be spayed in early March and SSC will cover the costs for this to be done.

She is currently in kennels in Stoke-On-Trent. She can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet her twice where she is at that time.

There is an adoption donation of £120 for Lexi and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
