History:
Maximus was rehomed following a house move, but his new owner felt they couldn’t cope with his energy. This was when he was surrendered to Senior Staffy Club.

Current:
Maximus is a very confident boy who absolutely adores having his tummy rubbed!

Since arriving with us in our Worcester kennels, he has shown to be an affectionate boy and loves being with you. The walkers are all very fond of him.

Max absolutely loves his tennis balls, he likes it when you throw them for him, but he doesn’t like giving them back!

Walking:
Max is always very keen to go out walking and gets very excited when he is brought out of his kennel.

He is amazing on his lead, so polite you don’t really know he is on the end. He constantly stops and looks back to check you are still with him.

He has shown some reaction to dogs whilst out walking, but not all the time. It depends if the other dog is reactive and how close they are to him.

The kennels are in quite a rural location so we do not have encounters with off-lead dogs approaching and care should be taken to avoid this.

He has shown to have a fairly good recall when across the fields on a long line.

He has shown interest in livestock, though he will happily walk on when asked.

Vets:
The vets have visited Max at the kennels and his behaviour was perfect.

He allowed the vet to fully examine and vaccinate him. The vet even commented on what a superb dog he is!

Health Issues:
He has had a full health check, including a blood test, and all has come back as normal.

He is a little over weight, which we are working on to slim him down.

Travelling:
Max has travelled well in the charity van - he did sing a little, but soon settled.

Ideal home:
• Due to him reacting to some dogs and not others, we feel Max will need to be the only pet in the home.
• We do not have any history of him living with children, we therefore feel he would be best living with children aged 14 years plus.
• We think Max would love to have owners who are home lots as he loves being with you snuggling on the sofa.

Standard information:
Maximus is fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.

He is currently in kennels in Worcester but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is at the moment.

There is an adoption donation of £120 for Maximus and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
