History:
Rocky came into Senior Staffy Club via Northants Council, where he was surrendered to them.
Current:
Rocky has been in foster since 15th July and he has settled in beautifully. When he first arrived, Rocky found kennels very overwhelming and didn’t cope well.
He was cared for by a small team, to try to offer him some stability. He was them moved to a foster home, to help him decompress, and he has come on in leaps and bounds.
Walking:
Rocky really loves his walks and he walks very well on the lead without pulling.
He is currently walked for 30 – 40 minutes twice a day, and this seems to suit him well. Although he would go out more if he could!
His foster dad says:
"We see lots of dogs on our walks, Rocky is interested in them, but only mildly, and he is easily handled with a small space between dogs.
He hasn’t displayed any barking or growling."
Travelling:
Rocky likes going out in the car as it means new walks. He travels well in a large crate in the boot of the car.
Vets:
We use a mobile vet who visits the dogs at kennels, so we have not seen him in a vet practice. He really wasn’t keen to see the vet and we had to mildly sedate him.
Health:
He has had a full health check including blood tests. When is blood test results came back, they were all very good.
Ideal home:
• Rocky will need to be the only pet in the home, although he shows mild interest in dogs out walking and hasn’t shown any negative reaction, we feel he would be best being the only dog.
• Rocky absolutely loves the garden, he would lay out there all day long as long as someone keeps him company, so a garden is a must for this boy.
• Rocky can be a little vocal at times, we are learning what these mean. So older teenage children would be great for him as he does love to play.
• Rocky is a clean boy in the house.
• He has been left for an hour or so several times and he has been a good boy. He doesn’t bark lots and hasn’t been destructive.
• We feel Rocky was owned by a man, as he is instantly drawn to men when he meets them.
Standard information:
Rocky is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered.
He is currently in foster in the West Midlands, but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is now.
There is a non refundable adoption donation of £120 for Rocky and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
