History:
Zeus came into us after a change in his family’s circumstances and he has spent lots of time on his own in recent months.

Current:
Zeus is currently in foster in Derby. He is a cheeky character and definitely knows what he likes.

He absolutely loves spending time in the sofa room at kennels with his volunteers.

He loves to play with soft toys, but in typical Staffy style - they explode on him.

Walking:
Zeus is really wobbly on his back legs, he appears to be quite uncoordinated at times. He is only walked for about 10 – 15 minutes a day in kennels, then he spends the rest of his time playing in the sofa room.

Travelling:
Zeus loves to travel and look out the window.

Vets:
The vet comes to kennels to see our dogs - Zeus was a good boy for his examination, health check, blood tests, vaccinations and neuter.

Health:
He has had a full health check including blood tests. All his bloods came back within normal ranges.

During his health check, we asked the vet to check his back legs and back to see if we could find out why he is so wobbly. He thinks is could be due to a chronic disc issue that he has suffered with for many years. The vet has prescribed Loxicom that has helped greatly. He doesn’t appear to be in any pain. He also takes Yumove daily.

He has age related reduced vision.

Zeus was neutered on 15th February and he is recovering well.

Ideal home:
• Zeus could possibly live with a calm, gentle dog after careful introductions.
• Zeus has been living in a home with a 5 year old child, but has spent lots of time confined to the kitchen area and, due to reduced vision, we feel he would be better with older children aged 12 years +.
• Zeus will need his people to be home most of the time. As he has got older, we have been told he has started to get a bit of separation anxiety. We think due to reduced vision, he looks for constant companionship. If left for long periods he gets distressed and whines.
• He is house trained and doesn’t chew.

Standard information:
Zeus microchipped and neutered. We have started his vaccinations and his 2nd vaccination is due on 7th March, the cost of this will be covered by SSC.

He is currently in foster in Derby, but he can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him at least twice where he is now.

There is a non-refundable adoption donation of £120 for Zeus and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
